Build Review

Part 2

Rudder with pull pull.
I will try to use one servo here on the rudder.  It is in the recommended torque range, so we will se if one servo does the job. If not,  I have to order some parts from my friend Rick at http://www.rickadoo.com/ so I can use two servos. We will see.   Well, I install the servo and connect the parts for the pull pull at the servo.
On the rudder it is a predrilled hole where post the rudder control horn for the pull pull will go through. I just have to make the hole a bit bigger. As you can se from the one picture of the parts bags, the bags are actually marked with numbers and they are referred to in the instruction manual. So it's really easy to build this great ARF.
I fasten the rod and make the pull wire ready .   In both sides of the plane there are pre-manufactured  slots for the pull wire to go through.  Just cut open the slots.
So I first get the cable connected to the servo and then tighten it up as I fasten it to the rudder.  This build is really going well and this is one of the best quick build ARF's I've ever had the pleasure to assemble.

Elevators and horizontal stabs.
I now mount the servos first, I cut away the cover and inside there are mounted some thin thread for pulling out the servo cables.  When this is done I find the numbered bags for the elevator push rods. There are predrilled holes in the elevator wing where the control rod will go ,so it's just to open that hole up for the correct size and screw in place. When mounting the pushrods, there are recommended measurements when installing in place, so I've followed the manufacturer's instructions.
I finish up both elevator wings, and I am now ready to mount them on the plane. But this I will finish up later on.
The plane already has holes in the side for the aluminum tube for the horizontal stabs and the servo wires. So its easy just to cut open the covering.   It also has pre-mounted blind nuts for fastening the stabs. As you can se of the picture from underneath, the stab it is fastened with two screws, these I have blue locktite on when making them up.
There are also a tube inside the plane for the servo wires to go thru.  The factory was nice enough to include a thin thread for pulling the servo wires through as you can se on the picture.
I pull the servo wires through and fasten the elevators , and then put on all the decals and, of course, the Carolina Skydancers new emblem on the rudder.
I will be back real soon with the follow up's.
