" Hi everybody, Lets go Flyin' err Trick or Treatin'" Newest Team Member-Aiden Robert Cimino 12-14-06 Grand National Aerobatic Champ 9-22-2028 Disinformation Here, were gonna' try and bust up some myths and common misnomers concerning large scale flyin' and planes. If you got a question about something, use the form below. We'll get back to ya' as soon as possible. We'll post the Q's and A's 0n this page.
Q-I am looking to get into large aerobatics, and have just bought
a 40% Lanier Edge540 kit, and I have a BME150cc gasser for it. My
question is what servo's do you guys use and recommend? My own
inclination is to use jr8611 or 8711 for all surfaces bar rudder, which
I have a seiko50 with a 3s4000mah LiPo for. What are your thoughts? I
fly at a small club and the only other large plane there is a 100cc
powered extra, but the fool has the cheap Chinese servo's in it. I am
prepared to put the $$ in for the best. Any advice would be appreciated. A-
HI, Thanks for your communication. I would definitely use the JR 8711's
or Hitec HS 5955TG's or Hitec HS 7955TG's on the surfaces. I like the
Hitec's and use them exclusively. The Seiko 50 sounds like a good
servo for the rudder although I've never used them myself. It is also an
Analog servo, not digital. In my giant scale planes I have
been using Hitec HS 5955TG's on the rudder in gangs of two or three
depending on the plane. They seem to fill the bill just fine. It is my
opinion that the more power you have to the control surfaces, the better.
Hope this helps.
